What's covered
This collection includes 108 kindergarten print-handwriting worksheets plus 28 bonus cursive handwriting pages. Students progress from foundational pencil-control strokes to uppercase and lowercase manuscript letters, numbers, familiar vocabulary, calendar words, sentence writing, and independent application. Most worksheets are print and go. The two name-writing pages are low prep and require an adult to add a light first-name or full-name model before use. Pencils or crayons are the only required materials, while optional supports may include highlighters, dry-erase sleeves, alphabet strips, finger-spacing tools, and lined paper.
- Pre-Writing Strokes: Build pencil control by tracing vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curved, zigzag, looping, and continuous lines.
- Name-Writing Practice: Trace, copy, and independently write a first name and full name while practicing appropriate capitalization and spacing.
- Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Formation: Practice manuscript letters A-Z and a-z with clear starting points, numbered stroke sequences, handwriting lines, and picture-supported vocabulary.
- Tall, Short, and Tail Letters: Strengthen letter-size awareness and learn how different lowercase letters fit within handwriting lines.
- Commonly Confused Letters: Practice distinguishing and forming commonly reversed letters, including b/d and p/q.
- Alphabet Review: Review uppercase, lowercase, and mixed-case letters through matching, tracing, copying, and independent writing.
- Number Handwriting 0-20: Trace, copy, and write numerals and number words from zero through twenty.
- Letter Spacing: Practice leaving appropriate spaces between letters within words.
- Trace, Copy, and Write Words: Progress from tracing a model to copying and independently writing familiar words.
- Color Words: Practice handwriting and early vocabulary with common color names.
- Days of the Week: Trace and write all seven days while reinforcing correct capitalization.
- Months of the Year: Practice writing all twelve months with picture-supported seasonal connections.
- Seasons: Trace and write spring, summer, fall, and winter.
- Animal Names: Practice familiar animal vocabulary through picture-supported tracing and independent writing.
- Word Spacing: Compare correct and incorrect spacing, then use finger spaces when copying simple sentences.
- Simple Sentence Handwriting: Trace and copy short, decodable sentences with capitals, word spacing, and ending punctuation.
- Trace, Copy, and Write Sentences: Progress from tracing to copying and independently writing complete sentences.
- Handwriting Skills Check: Apply letter formation, numeral formation, capitalization, spacing, line placement, and sentence-writing skills in an informal end-of-unit assessment.
- 28 Bonus Cursive Pages: Trace uppercase and lowercase cursive letters A-Z and complete separate uppercase and lowercase alphabet reviews. These pages are optional enrichment rather than part of the 108-page core print-handwriting sequence.
- Teacher Support and Assessment Guidance: A table of contents, how-to-use guide, suggested classroom uses, recommended teaching sequence, developing-writer support strategies, prep-level guidance, teacher tips, skills-covered charts, Handwriting Assessment and Observation Guide, and progress-monitoring guidance are included. Traditional answer keys are not included because the correct letter, numeral, word, or sentence model appears directly on each worksheet.
This collection works well for whole-group handwriting lessons, literacy centers, morning work, fine-motor practice, small-group intervention, independent practice, homework, early finishers, substitute teacher plans, informal assessment, progress monitoring, review, and beginning first-grade practice. Teachers can assign individual pages for targeted support, organize related worksheets into short handwriting units, and use the bonus cursive pages with students who are ready for additional enrichment.
